PTA is a volunteer-run organization that exists to support our school and our students. The PTA raises funds throughout the year to be able to host fun events for Vessels students and to give back to our school. Some of the events we put on include the Jog-a-Thon, Donuts with My Guy, Breakfast with My Gal, Harvest Night, and Summer Jam. By joining PTA, you’re helping to “keep the lights on” so that we can continue to support our students! You’re also showing you care about what we do. Let your voice be heard!

Who Can Join?

Anyone! Grandparents, parents, students, and teachers are all welcome to join. It costs $11 per person for a year long membership. We’d love to have your whole family join, but at minimum, we hope to have at least 1 member per family.

Do I Have to Volunteer?

NO. Joining PTA doesn’t mean you’re committing to volunteer. As we are parents just like you, we’d of course very much appreciate your support if you do have the ability to help out, especially at events!

How Can I Be Involved?

As a PTA member, you can attend our general association meetings. We have open chair and board positions, both big and small, if you’d like to be more involved. You can also simply sign up to volunteer for our next event.

Being a PTA member allows you to receive PTA email communications, vote in PTA Association meetings, serve on and chair PTA committees, and run for a PTA office.  Membership is available to parents and legal guardians of Vessels students and to all Vessels staff.  PTA membership runs through June 30 and must be reapplied for each year.

The number one reason to join the Parent Teacher Association is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help your school. But there are many more PTA advantages:

· Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.

· Tap into a Network. PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. You can share ideas, concerns, and experiences.

· Watch Yourself Grow. By volunteering with your PTA, you put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause—your child and all children in the community.

· Speak Up. PTA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.

· Witness Improvement. By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Our PTA plays an important role by supporting building improvements through advocacy and play an important role in fundraising for curriculum based programs and social/family events.

· Be a Role Model. By becoming a PTA member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.

Remember, being a member doesn't mean you have to volunteer your time if you don't have it to give! Please show your support for our school and your child by becoming a paid member today!
